I am now the proud owner of a four-drawer card catalogue. Considering it does indeed go from A to Z I will proudly alphabetize my miscellaneous art supplies in it. “R-P” currently contains Pens and Pencils. J is the owner, now, of a 15 drawer catalogue with a two-drawer file stand. They will likely be taken apart, as it seems they were once cobbled together. His, however, is much older, and the catalogue drawers are dove-tailed and fully wood. Mine have wood fronts (and brass fittings!), but the inner-drawers are plastic. …. Can some librarian tell me, please, why are there inch and centimeter markings on the edges of the drawers?
I can’t imagine, although I must somehow get it done, how I’m going to complete another self portrait while I’m so sick. Great. I did do touch ups on my last one (which I posted here) and the head finally looked downwards. I got very high marks for it as well, which made me feel a touch better about how it turned out. The eyes were still too light and need to be shaded down. I’m going to have to bring a sturdy folder and extra fixative to the studio next week and give it a spray during break so I can truck it back home safely without it getting bent. It’s currently sitting in the school’s flat-files, but it’s not as if I don’t have flat files here to stow it in.
