New Project

A little, big project I’ve finally started to put together.

This particular one isn’t finished by any means, but a little look at where it’s at.

A Painting

Strategy in Progress

It’s going somewhere …

Gods, it feels like forever since I picked up a paintbrush.
It’s just a raw under painting, mind, but it’s better than nothing.  The horse she’s holding ought be fairly steam-punk by the time I’m done.

Cy (nearly finished, but not quite)

Go ahead. You want to point at his eyes and go “PEW PEW PEW”. Don’t you?

Well. It’s looking better at least. I have to say that this creamy, peachy, tabby coloring is a BITCH to paint.cy

The Side Effect of Commissions

This commission is for another artist, asked for by a mutual friend.

Two Leaves

Two Leaves

I did a lot of this painting while watching/listening to the TV series “Lost”.  So, I find it fascinating that the lady looked more and more like the actress who plays Kate.  She doesn’t so much anymore, but for quite a while I wondered how much watching that show was influencing her features.

The strong shadows and the muscles on her back have been particularly difficult to make look “correct”.  this is one of the many times I wish I could step outside of myself to set up an accurate pose to work from … yes, I took a lot of blurry photographs to work from and none were quite right.  So, in this case, Frankenlady is a hodge-podge of model photos, photos of myself, and a lot of idealization.  It still needs a lot of work.

Enjoy.
